How It Works: Laser Lipo (Non-evasive)

Fat Cell Breakdown with Laser Lipolysis

Section 1: Introduction & Goal

The Overall Goal

Laser Lipo is your most passive contouring treatment. The goal is to help stubborn fat pockets look flatter and help clothes fit looser over time. It’s contouring, not weight loss, and the real “make it work” moment is what you do after the session.

Section 2: How It Works

How It Works

Laser Lipo uses low-level red light to encourage fat cells to temporarily release stored fat, creating a short “use it” window.

  • Temporary pores: the light encourages fat cells to form temporary openings so stored fat can leave the cell.
  • Deflates, doesn’t destroy: cells shrink/deflate rather than being permanently destroyed (unlike Cryo).
  • Window of opportunity: the released fat is available as energy, which is why cardio after is the difference between “meh” and “wow.”

(Short on purpose. Practical steps come first.)

Section 3: What to Expect & Results

What to Expect

During the session:

Very chill. You’ll feel almost nothing, maybe slight warmth or mild tingling.

Immediately after:

No downtime. You can go straight to a walk or workout.

Result timeline:

Often subtle at first (clothes feel a bit nicer), but best results come from a consistent course.

Normal vs Not Normal (Read this before you start)

Normal:

  • Almost nothing
  • Slight warmth from pads
  • Mild tingling for some people

Not normal:

  • Heat that feels burning
  • Painful “hot spot” under a pad
  • Skin irritation that worsens during the session

Required Sessions & Frequency

Laser Lipo is a course treatment.

  • Course: 8–12 sessions per target area
  • Frequency: 2 sessions per week is ideal
  • Typical timeline: 4–8 weeks depending on your plan
  • Maintenance: optional session every few weeks/months if desired

What It Should Feel Like (and Settings)

Laser Lipo should not feel hot, even on higher settings.

First-session protocol (recommended)

  • Start mid-range intensity
  • Do 20 minutes on one zone
  • See how your skin responds, then build gently next session

Machine settings

Mode: Laser Lipo

Time:

  • 20–30 minutes per zone (most common)
  • Up to 40 minutes if your plan calls for it
  • If treating multiple zones: total session can be up to 60 minutes

Power / Intensity:

  • Start mid-range
  • Increase gradually only if it still feels totally comfortable

Simple rule: If you can “forget it’s on,” you’re doing it right.

Progress Tracking (so you can actually see it)

  • Take weekly photos (same lighting, front + side + back)
  • Measure weekly (waist/thigh/arm depending on your zone)
  • Track clothes fit + shape changes, not just the scale
  • Best check-ins: after Session 4, 8, and 12

Section 4: Application & Procedure

Before Starting / Preparation

What you need

  • Laser Lipo pads + elastic straps
  • Clean towel
  • Water bottle + sneakers (you’ll want the walk after)

Skin prep (important)

  • Skin must be clean and completely dry
  • No gel. No oil. No lotion. These can block/scatter the light.

Step-by-Step Procedure / Application

  1. Choose your zone
Abdomen, waist, thighs, arms, or back.
  2. Place pads over the fat pocket
    Pads sit directly on skin.
  3. Strap pads flat (no gaps)
Snug is good. Cutting off circulation is not.
  4. Optional: lymph pad placement
If possible place the smaller pads near nearby lymph areas to support drainage:
    1. Legs/thighs: near the groin area
    2. Arms: near the armpits
    3. Abdomen/waist: lower belly/groin area
  5. Press Start and relax
Pads are meant to be stationary. Stay still.
  6. Finish
Remove pads and go straight to Aftercare.

Post-Treatment Care (this is what makes it work)

Laser Lipo creates a “window” where released fat is available as energy. If you don’t use it, your body can store it again.

Within 24 hours (ideally right after):

  • Do 20–30 minutes of cardio (brisk walk, cycling, incline walk)
  • Drink plenty of water (aim 2 litres across the day)

Food tip (optional but powerful):

Avoid eating for 2 hours before and after your session if you can.

Simple rule: Pads + cardio = results.

Clean-Up (every time)

  • Turn off the machine
  • Wipe pads and straps with a gentle disinfectant wipe
  • Let pads fully dry before storing
  • Coil cords loosely and store everything clean and dry

Section 5: Safety & Candidates

Ideal Candidates

  • You’re close to your goal weight and want help with stubborn pockets
  • You can commit to a consistent routine (2x/week)
  • You can do light cardio within 24 hours (otherwise results drop fast)

Contraindications List (Do Not Use If)

Skip Laser Lipo if:

  • You’re pregnant
  • You have a condition that makes light/laser unsafe for you
  • You’re on medication that increases light sensitivity
  • You have broken/irritated skin in the area
  • You cannot do cardio within 24 hours (it becomes much less effective)

Specific Safety Warnings

  • Eye safety: never look directly into the diodes while powered on.
  • Keep away from children when powered on or cooling down.
  • Pads should never feel hot. If they do, stop and check placement/settings.

STOP IMMEDIATELY IF…

  • A pad feels like it’s burning your skin
  • You feel sharp pain or intense discomfort
  • Redness or irritation is worsening during the session

Stop, remove pads, check skin, lower intensity next time, and contact FreezeDrop support if anything looks abnormal.
