How it works: 40kHz Cavitation

Body Sculpting With Cavitation

Section 1: Introduction & Goal

The Overall Goal

40kHz Cavitation is your cm-loss treatment. It targets stubborn fat pockets by helping fat become easier for your body to flush out naturally over a course of sessions. Think of it as the “smooth and shrink” step (RF is more “tight and firm”).

Section 2: How It Works

How It Works

Cavitation uses low-frequency sound waves to create pressure changes in fatty tissue.

  • Sound wave delivery: the handpiece sends 40kHz ultrasound into the soft fat layer.
  • “Bubble” effect: tiny pressure bubbles form in the fluid around fat cells.
  • Disruption: these bubbles collapse and can disrupt fat cells so contents become easier for the body to process.
  • Natural processing: the body then works to move this through lymphatic pathways and process it through the liver. That’s why hydration and aftercare matter.

(Short version on purpose. The practical steps come first.)

Section 3: What to Expect & Results

What to Expect

During the session:

A warm glide & gentle vibration. Many people hear a high-pitched “chirp” or ringing in their ears. That’s normal.

Immediately after:

The area may feel softer, and you might pee more for the next 24–48 hours.

Result timeline:

Some people notice small changes early, but the best results usually show after a consistent course (see below).

Normal vs Not Normal (Read this before you start)

Normal:

  • Mild warmth + gentle vibration
  • Ringing/buzzing in your ears
  • Area feels softer afterwards
  • More bathroom trips for 24–48 hours

Not normal:

  • Sharp heat, stinging, or burning
  • Pain that makes you tense up
  • Sudden discomfort when you drift onto bony areas (move away immediately)

Required Sessions & Frequency

Cavitation is a course, not a one-and-done.

  • Best results: typically 6–12 sessions per target area
  • Frequency: 2–3 sessions per week (rotate areas if needed)
  • Spacing rule: wait 72 hours (3 days) before treating the same area again
  • Maintenance: every 1–3 months once you’re happy

What It Should Feel Like (and Settings)

You’re aiming for painless warmth, not heat pain.

First-session protocol (recommended)

  • Start Level 2–3
  • Do 10–15 minutes on one zone
  • See how your body responds, then build next session

Machine settings

Mode: 40kHz Cavitation

Power / Intensity:

  • Start at Level 3
  • Build to Level 5 if it stays comfortable
  • It should always feel painless

Time:

  • 15–25 minutes per zone (zone = handprint/postcard size)
  • 30–60 minutes total depending on zones treated

Daily safety limit:

  • Keep active cavitation time to 60 minutes max per day

Progress Tracking (so you can actually see it)

  • Photos weekly (same lighting, front + side)
  • Measurements weekly (waist/thigh/arm depending on your goal)
  • Track how clothes fit too
  • Best check-ins: after Session 3, 6, and 10

Section 4: Application & Procedure

Before Starting / Preparation

What you need:

  • Cavitation handle connected correctly
  • Water-based RF conductive gel (Ultrasonic gel - provided)
  • Towel for cleanup
  • Water bottle (you’ll want it after)
  • Optional: phone timer

Gel note (important): Only use the ultrasonic gel provided

Zone size rule:

Work in zones about the size of a postcard/handprint (10 x 15cm). This keeps the treatment focused and comfortable.

Step-by-Step Procedure / Application

Choose the right area

Soft, fatty areas only (tummy, thighs, hips, arms). Avoid bony zones.

  1. Clean and dry the skin
    No oils or lotions.
  2. Apply gel (generously)
A thick, even layer on the first zone only.
  3. Start + move slowly
Place the head flat and move in slow circles or figure-8s with constant contact.
  4. Overlap your passes
Like colouring in evenly. Don’t “skip around.”
  5. Time the zone
Stay on that zone for 15–25 minutes, then move to the next zone and reapply gel.
  6. Understand the daily limit
Total cavitation time recommendation is 60 minutes max per day.

Post-Treatment Care

This is what turns “nice session” into “visible results.”

For the next 24–48 hours:

  • Drink plenty of water (aim 2 litres across the day)
  • Avoid alcohol and heavy/fried fats for 48 hours (let your liver focus)
  • Light movement helps (a walk later that day is perfect)
  • Expect extra bathroom trips (normal)

Clean-up (every time):

  • Turn off the machine
  • Wipe gel off the skin
  • Clean the cavitation head with a gentle disinfectant wipe
  • Dry and store clean and dry

Section 5: Safety & Candidates

Ideal Candidates

  • You’re close-ish to your goal weight and want help with stubborn pockets
  • You’re able to hydrate well and follow aftercare
  • You want cm loss & smoothing, not tightening only (that’s RF’s lane)

Contraindications List (Do Not Use If)

Skip Cavitation if any apply:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Pacemaker or implanted electronic device
  • Metal implants in the treatment area
  • Liver or kidney disease history
  • Active cancer, severe autoimmune disorder, acute infection
  • DVT, severe varicose veins, uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Broken skin, rash, dermatitis in the area
  • Recently had surgery in the area (wait until healed/cleared)

Specific Safety Warnings

  • Never use cavitation on the face or neck.
  • Avoid ribs, hip bones, spine, and the heart/chest centre.
  • Keep the head moving. Holding it still can create uncomfortable hot spots.
  • If you feel burning: add more gel, lower the level, and move more steadily.

STOP IMMEDIATELY IF…

  • You feel sharp burning, stinging, or painful heat
  • The area becomes intensely uncomfortable
  • You see blistering or worrying skin changes
  • Discomfort spikes because you drifted onto a bony area

Stop, wipe off gel, cool the area gently, and contact FreezeDrop support if anything feels off.
