How It Works: Body and Face RF

Skin Tightening With RF (Body + Face)

Section 1: Introduction & Goal

The Overall Goal

RF is your “tighten and polish” treatment. It’s designed to firm loose skin, smooth texture, and support more defined contours without needles or downtime.

Quick expectation check: Radio Frequency (RF) treatment is primarily for tightening and smoothing. Any fat-reduction effect is secondary and can vary from person to person.

Section 2: How It Works

How It Works

RF uses gentle electromagnetic energy to create controlled warmth in deeper layers of the skin.

  • Collagen contraction: existing collagen fibres shrink slightly with heat, creating a subtle “tight” look straight away.
  • Collagen renewal: heat triggers a repair response, encouraging new collagen and elastin over the following weeks.
  • Circulation boost: increased blood flow can improve skin tone and texture.
  • Texture support: consistent use can soften the look of crepey skin and cellulite texture on the body.

Section 3: What to Expect & Results

What to Expect

During the session:

Warm, soothing heat like a hot stone massage. You want “hot but comfy,” not sharp or stingy.

Immediately after:

Skin often looks pink or flushed and may feel warm for a few hours (usually settles within 2–24 hours). Most people return to normal activities straight away.

Result timeline:

  • Body: firmness and texture changes build gradually over 4–12 weeks, with ongoing improvement up to 2–6 months.
  • Face: a fresh “glow” can show up quickly, while tightening and lift build over 4–12 weeks.

Longevity:

Results can last 1 to 3 years, depending on lifestyle and skin condition. Maintenance helps keep it looking fresh.

Normal vs Not Normal (Read this before you start)

Normal:

  • Deep warmth building gradually
  • Mild tingling or gentle vibration
  • Pink/red flush after
  • Skin feels warm for a few hours

Not normal:

  • Sharp sting, burning heat, or “zapping” sensation
  • A sudden painful hot spot
  • Blistering
  • Patchy grey/white skin changes

If any of these happen, stop and check the Safety section.

Required Sessions & Frequency

Body RF:

  • Best rhythm: 2–3 sessions per week
  • Course: 4–6 weeks
  • Maintenance: weekly/fortnightly depending on goals

Face RF:

  • Best rhythm: 2–3 sessions per week
  • Course: 4–6 weeks
  • Maintenance: weekly/fortnightly

What It Should Feel Like (and Settings)

You do not need a thermometer. Comfort is your safety guide.

First-session protocol (recommended)

  • Body: start Level 2–3, do 10–15 minutes on one zone, then build up next time.
  • Face: start Level 1–2, do 5–8 minutes per area, then build gently.

Body RF settings

  • Power: start around Level 3–4 (after your first-session test)
  • Increase only until it feels hot but tolerable
  • If you feel stinging or a hot spot, lower the level and keep moving

Time guide:

  • Per zone (handprint/postcard size): 15–20 minutes
  • Standard area (e.g., tummy/thigh): usually 2 zones = ~30–40 minutes
  • Total session cap (multiple zones): 60–90 minutes total, broken into zones

Face RF settings

  • Power: start around Level 2–3 (after your first-session test)
  • Aim for a warm relaxing flush, never prickly/stingy

Time guide:

  • Targeted area (jawline/eyes area): 10–15 minutes
  • Full face: 30 minutes
  • Face + neck: 45 minutes

Progress Tracking (so you can actually see changes)

  • Take weekly photos in the same lighting (front + side, and back for body)
  • Measure once per week (waist/thigh/arm depending on your plan)
  • Track texture changes too (cellulite, crepey skin, firmness)
  • Best check-ins: Week 2, Week 4, Week 8, Week 12

Section 4: Application & Procedure

Before Starting / Preparation

  • Remove jewellery in the treatment area
  • Skin should be clean and dry
  • Choose a comfortable spot and have your towel ready
  • Apply gel only to the zone you’re treating now

What you need:

  • Correct RF handle connected (Body RF for body, Face RF for face)
  • Water-based RF conductive gel (Ultrasonic gel - provided)
  • Towel
  • Optional: phone timer
  • Optional aftercare: moisturiser / hyaluronic serum (especially for face)

Gel note (important): Only use the ultrasonic gel provided

Zone size rule:

  • Body: handprint/postcard sized zones (10 x 15cm)
  • Face: postage stamp sized zones (small + precise)

Step-by-Step Procedure / Application

Body RF (tighten + smooth)

  1. Apply a generous layer of RF gel to the first zone.
  2. Start treatment and place the handle flat on the skin.
  3. Move in slow circles or sweeping motions.
  4. Overlap passes by about 50% for even heating.
  5. Stay on the same zone long enough for heat to build.
  6. Treat the zone for 15–20 minutes, then move to the next zone and repeat with fresh gel.

Areas to avoid (body):

  • Over the centre of the chest/heart area
  • Directly over spine or ribs
  • Over broken skin, irritated areas, or severe varicose veins
  • Any area with metal implants

Face RF (lift + glow)

  1. Cleanse face, pat dry, tie hair back, remove jewellery.
  2. Apply gel to one side of the face first (symmetry hack).
  3. Treat in this order: neck + jawline (avoid thyroid), cheeks, forehead.
  4. Use small circles and upward glides (“up and out”).
  5. Treat targeted areas for 10–15 minutes, or full face for 30 minutes.
  6. Repeat on the other side.

Face safety note: Never treat eyelids or directly over eyeballs. Stay on the orbital bone around the eye only.

Post-Treatment Care

  • Wipe off gel gently
  • Massage moisturiser in (or hyaluronic serum for face)
  • Drink water (aim for 1 litre over the next couple of hours)
  • Avoid very hot showers/saunas for 12 hours if sensitive
  • SPF the next day is a smart move after Face RF

Clean-up (every time):

  • Turn off machine
  • Wipe handle with a gentle disinfectant wipe
  • Dry before storing
  • Coil cords loosely (no kinks)

Section 5: Safety & Candidates

Ideal Candidates

  • People wanting firmer, smoother-looking skin without downtime
  • Mild to moderate skin laxity
  • Those using Cavitation/Cryo who want a tightening finish
  • Face RF is ideal for gentle lift + glow, not dramatic “surgical” change

Contraindications List

Skip RF if you are:

  • Pregnant
  • Using a pacemaker or implanted electronic device
  • Have metal implants in the treatment area
  • Have broken skin, active rash, severe irritation
  • Have very new tattoos in the area (still healing)
  • Have had recent fillers/cosmetic procedures (Face RF)

If you’re unsure, check with a health professional first.

Specific Safety Warnings

  • Never hold the handle still. Hot spots can burn.
  • Gel is essential. No gel = patchy heat and higher risk.
  • Avoid thyroid area (front of neck).
  • Avoid eyelids and eyeballs.
  • Bony areas heat faster (forehead and jawline). Lower level if needed.

STOP IMMEDIATELY IF…

  • You feel sharp stinging, burning heat, or a “zap”
  • A hot spot becomes painful quickly
  • Skin turns patchy grey/white or blisters
  • You feel unwell or lightheaded

Stop the session, remove the handle, wipe gel off, cool the area gently, and contact FreezeDrop support if anything looks abnormal.
